Prompt treatment of eye infections and injuries is crucial

If you have symptoms of an eye infection, you should see Paragon Ophthalmology right away in order to prevent vision loss and other complications. Signs that you may have an eye infection include discharge, pink coloring in the white part of your eye, swollen or discolored eyelids, and crusty eyelashes and eyelids (usually in the morning). Common eye infections include conjunctivitis (pink eye), keratitis, endophthalmitis, blepharitis, sty, uveitis, cellulitis, and ocular herpes.

Eye injuries should be taken very seriously and can be caused by chemical burns, foreign objects, impact, and cuts or punctures. If you experience an eye injury, you should inform your ophthalmologist to determine if professional treatment is necessary. Like eye infections, eye injuries should be treated promptly in order to prevent permanent damage.
